About Us
Team 687, the Nerd Herd, is a robotics team from the California Academy of Mathematics & Science (CAMS), a small public high school located in Carson, California. Since 2001 the team has been competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition and exposing its nerds to hands-on experience in machining, manufacturing, designing, documentation, finances, entrepreneurship, and management! Having so many participants in the program the team Nerds are decided into the engineers (the Industry team) and the entrepreneurs (the Administration team). The team is fortunate enough to be guided by our older nerds (our mentors) and to be financially supported by some of world's leading companies. Even though we are a robotics team, the team has managed to make an impact in the community by exposing the community to STEM and FIRST.
